The Butler County Conservation Board has a goal to educate others and to support others who educate the community about the conservation of our natural resources.

The Board has allocated funds to provide materials for projects related to conservation education in Butler County Schools. The projects are to be designed to educate students about the conservation of our natural resources and how it affects our community.

If you are a teacher or educator in the county and are interested in applying, please contact the District Office.

Some examples of projects could be:

  • Outdoor Classrooms
  • Nature Trails
  • Compost Demonstrations
  • Recycling Projects
  • Pollinator Gardens
  • Wildlife Feeding/Observation Station
  • Soil & Water Testing Materials
  • Land Judging Instruments
  • Bird Feeders
  • Nesting Boxes
  • Conservation Books
  • Video Presentations

These are just a few ideas for projects; there are many more possibilities to choose from – as long as the project pertains to educating students about the conservation of our natural resources.

The district will request a report on the project upon completion and a copy of all receipts from the project. The projects may continue for more than one school year, but if so, a report should be made at the end of each year to the District Board about the progress of the project.

It never hurts to apply!  Get your application in today before the funds run out!
